TikTok Shop Flat Fee Collab for Creators & Brands
Learn how TikTok Shop’s Flat Fee Collaboration gives creators steady income and helps brands build stronger influencer partnerships.
🎯 What is Flat Fee Collaboration?
Flat Fee Collaboration is a new offer format inside TikTok Shop’s Creator Center. With it, brands can send you targeted invites that include a guaranteed payment (aka a flat fee), so you get paid for your work—whether or not the product sells immediately.
This doesn’t replace commission-based earnings. Instead, it complements them. Creators can still earn commissions on sales generated by their video and collect an upfront payment just for participating in a campaign.
💼 How to Get Started with Flat Fee Deals
Step 1: Accept a Flat Fee Invite
Check your Creator Center regularly. Go to:
TikTok Shop Toolkit → Collab Invites
Look for invitations labeled “Flat Fee”
⏳ You’ve got 7 days to accept. After that, the invite expires.
Step 2: Track Your Progress
After accepting an invite, head to the Progress tab. It outlines key deadlines, status updates, and next steps so nothing slips through the cracks.
Step 3: Submit Content Before Deadline
Once the invite status changes to "Needs Content", upload your video before the timer runs out. Some sellers may specify a hard deadline—if so, it’ll be clearly noted. Need more time? Message the seller via TikTok’s built-in IM to request an extension.
Step 4: Request Product Samples
If a free sample is available, you’ll see a “Get Sample” button in the invite. Make sure to follow the request process properly to avoid delays.
Step 5: Upload Your Video (The Right Way)
Upload your content through the Flat Fee invitation flow—not via Showcase or your personal profile tools. Set visibility to “Everyone can see.”
Important: Don’t change the linked product. It could break the upload and disqualify the content.
Step 6–7: Under Review
TikTok will review your video for platform compliance first (allow up to 48 hours).
If seller review is required, your video enters a second review phase. The seller has up to 14 days and can request up to 3 rounds of revisions.
Step 8–9: Make Revisions if Needed
If your video is rejected (by TikTok or the seller), you’ll be asked to revise it. You have 7 days to resubmit. Rejection reasons and edit comments will be available in the Progress tab.
Step 10: Video Goes Live
Once both TikTok and the seller approve the content, it’s ready to go. The seller can publish it right away or schedule it for later. Creators can’t delete or edit the video after submission under this model.
Step 11–12: Get Paid
When everything’s approved and published, TikTok releases your flat fee payment. The status will show as “Paid”—though actual deposits may take time to hit your account. Check your Performance Data tab for earnings breakdowns.
💡 FAQs (Because We Know You’re Wondering…)
Will these videos appear on my TikTok profile?
Yes. Once published, your Flat Fee videos appear like any other TikTok Shop content.
Can brands use my content elsewhere?
Yes—but only within the TikTok Shop ecosystem (like ads or product pages). Check if ad usage is included in the invite.
Can I still earn commission from these videos?
Absolutely. You get the flat fee plus any commissions from product sales through your video.
Do I have to accept every invite?
Nope. You’re free to pass on any invites that don’t align with your brand or pricing. Declining won’t hurt your account.
Can I negotiate the terms?
Yes, especially flat rate and review rounds. Use in-app messaging to discuss directly with the brand.
What if I miss the deadline?
The invite will expire, and you won’t receive payment. Stay on top of your Progress tab notifications.
Can I filter invites by price?
Not yet—but TikTok is limiting invites during this phase to avoid spammy lowball offers. Expect better filtering in the future.
